All Day Riding in the Country

Also - Hourly or day rides as well as fully inclusive 3,4 or 7 night all day riding holidays (Option A)

For the intermediate or experienced rider. Riders need to be able to control their horses outside at all paces and for the enjoyment of the rest of the riders this option is not suitable for beginners or most children of less than 12 years.

However if there is a complete group of less experienced riders then we can provide gentle horses and make up a ride accordingly.

Each day the ride follows a different route, starting from the centre, stopping for lunch at a country bar/restaurant, for a picnic out in the country or maybe back at the centre. Expect 3 to 5 hours in the saddle (this can be varied according to riders preferences). We offer longer rides to keen and competent riders.

Note: On Wednesday mornings (only) we leave you free to relax or explore the market town of Hellin (morning market). Wednesday afternoon you can relax at the Centre or take a ride in the country, whichever you prefer.

You will ride on ancient tracks through spectacular scenery, often teeming with butterflies and birdlife (look out for eagles, hoopoes, bee-eaters) and rich in wildflowers during the spring, through pine woods, time-worn arroyos, through vineyards, olive, almond and apricot groves and from the tops of our small mountains enjoy huge views to the wide horizon. No roads, no barriers, no fences.

The Horses

Predominantly Purebred Spanish horses, some Portuguese Lusitanos and Tres Sangres. Our horses have great 'spirit', yet are gentle and intelligent. You will may as much from the horses as from the instructors! Our more experienced horses are capable of elevated movements and High School work as well as good extension and they move with lightness, collection, with excellent balance and cadence. Competent riders can experience the horse of the 'masters' of years gone by and we are perhaps unique in being able to offer experienced sensitive riders the opportunity to ride some of these horses out in the country.

More details of our horses can be found under the heading 'Horses' in 'Riding Holidays', or - Click here to see our horses

See below (PRICES - May 2008) for more details of hourly/daily riding or 3,4 or 7 night holidays
