The Horses

Working in conjunction with the Spanish Purebred stud Yeguada Iberica we offer perhaps the very best selection of quality horses for our riding guests. With around 50 Spanish Purebred’s registered in the State Studbook, some Lusitanos and Tres Sangres, we offer a choice to suit novice to advanced level, including Alta Escuela and Doma Vaquera. Competent riders also have the rare opportunity to ride out in the country on our advanced 'school' horses if they wish; you could be riding Alta Escuela in the morning and enjoying a country ride in the afternoon. We don't expect our best school horses to work every day solely in the school, so they enjoy a varied life with us and this is reflected in the calm yet enthusiastic way they work.

We offer highly trained schoolmasters for classical riding, High School, work-in-hand and on the long-rein. Tuition is given in our international size school.

Doma Vaquera lessons can be booked with Richard, who founded the Doma Vaquera Association in England and is a delegate for the Asociación Nacional de Doma Vaquera (Spain’s National Doma Vaquera Association).

Tack is either English or Spanish; chosen to suit you and your horse. Our Spanish tack, although traditional, is modern and lightweight.

	Oloroso III Purebred Spanish stallion. 16.2hh (1.68m) Registered in the Spanish State Studbook & graded for breeding. All lateral work, flying changes. piaffe. Can carry heavier riders, huge stamina. Oloroso is suited for the more advanced rider, with very light contact.
	Malabar Purebred Spanish stallion. 15.3hh (1.60m) Registered in the Spanish State Studbook & graded for breeding. All lateral work, flying changes. Aalso excels at work-in-hand, long-reining and side-saddle. Multiple National class, movement and ridden champion. More

	Lidiador Grey, Tres Sangres Doma Vaquera horse Spanish Eastern National Champion and a 'schoolmaster' to ride.
	Rumboso Purebred Spanish stallion. 15.2hh (1.57m) High School horse. Piaffe, passage, levade, capriole, Spanish walk, flying changes. In-hand, on the long rein or ridden. Rumboso ‘teaching’ a holiday guest
	Mejicano XXXIX Purebred Spanish stallion. 16hh (1.63m) Registered in the Spanish State Studbook & graded for breeding Confirmed in all paces. Excellent lateral work and flying changes. Was joint Supreme Champion PRE in UK as a yearling! Multiple National movement champion. A very talented horse for sensitive riders.
	Kan VIII Purebred Spanish stallion. 15.3hh (1.60m) Registered in the Spanish State Studbook & graded for breeding. Included in the LIMPRE Book of Merits. All lateral work. Both saddles. Excels in work-in-hand & on the long-rein Also drives singles, pairs, and teams.
	Emir VII Purebred Spanish stallion 16.1hh (1.65m) Registered in the Spanish State Studbook & graded for breeding All lateral work, flying changes. Huge stamina and incredibly responsive. He works as well in the bull fields as he does in the school. Can carry heavier riders.
	Octavio III Purebred Spanish stallion. 16.2hh (1.68m) An Elite horse, Registered in the Spanish State Studbook & graded APTO Calificado All lateral work, flying changes. A real gentleman Octavio was graded in Murcia, Spain, with the highest score for a PRE of either sex in the last 20 years. He is currently one of the highest graded PRE's in Spain. 	Mandadero Purebred Spanish stallion 15.2hh (1.58m) Registered in the Spanish State Studbook & graded for breeding Beautiful paces, good lateral work and flying changes. Another one of our ‘gentlemen’. He is also very popular for our country rides.
	Edo Purebred Lusitano (Portuguese) stallion 16.1hh (1.65m) Registered in the Portuguese State Studbook & highly graded for breeding Edo is a genuine High School ‘schoolmaster’. All lateral work, one and two time flying changes, canter pirouette, piaffe, passage, etc. More
	Galeão Purebred Lusitano (Portuguese) stallion 15.2hh (1.57m) Registered in the Portuguese State Studbook & graded for breeding He was a fabulous Alta Escuela horse until he damaged a leg in a riding accident A true gentleman, now he excels at driving and is a true ‘schoolmaster’ in that discipline as well.
	Marismeña A gentle Spanish mare. Although she can safely look after children and absolute beginners, she can also perform well at all paces. She works in the school, safely hacks out and can be ridden in the noisiest Feria without turning a hair.
	Moralejo Purebred Spanish stallion and full brother to Mejicano. Registered in the Spanish State Studbook & graded for breeding. An excellent ride for sensitive riders, sensible and with boundless energy.
	Universo Purebred Lusitano (Portuguese) stallion A big lad (17.1 hh – 1.75m) with a big heart. Fabulous paces. Often leads rides in the countryside and combines boldness and ability from his Veiga bloodlines with a calm and workmanlike temperament. Good lateral work and flying changes. 	Salto Young Purebred Spanish stallion. Another exceptional example by Malabar, out of Seductora, with absolutely outstanding movement and presence. A stunning and workmanlike horse with many of his sire's characteristics. Confirmed at all paces, all lateral work, flying changes. (Photos taken when he was 3 years old)
